Oreodont
(Leptauchenia nitida)
Here are
the fossils of an oreodont I found in the plains of northeastern
Colorado back in 1971 or so. I had a rock pick and was digging
in the side of an arroyo when I uncovered these fossils.
The fossils
were brought to the Denver Museum of Natural History (as it
was called back then) for identification and we were told
they were part of an oreodont, which was boar-like animal
the size of a small horse. |
